We’ve been having a great time here at ILC! I’ll do a post soon about some of the things Jody and I have been learning, but for now the girls wanted to show you what they’ve been learning. Camryn and Jordan come home with lots of papers, but I let them each pick one thing they wanted to show you.

Camryn’s class does a lot of typical pre-school activities (story time, gym class, learning about the calendar and weather, etc.), but one thing they really focus on is preparing the kids to go to a new culture. So each week they talk about one of the countries a kid in her class will be going to and they teach them about the flag, the clothing, animals from that country, and customs. It’s really neat to hear about some of the things she’s been learning. But the thing she wanted to show you was her drawing on ‘magic paper’. They used a chopstick to scratch through the black paper to find the many colors underneath.

Jordan always comes home and tells me that they haven’t been teaching her anything…but I know that’s not true! I have overheard her singing songs that I haven’t sung with her in a long time, so I know she’s learning at least that much. She’s always excited to go to school, so they must be doing something right there! The picture she wanted to show you was when they were painting in chocolate pudding and tasting it too. They were learning about their five senses that week.

The main thing Lauren’s been learning is songs! We went out to eat on Mother’s Day and she kept singing something with hand motions and then stretching her arms out and yelling something at the end. She did it over and over and over… I had to ask her teacher what she was doing and she told me it was “The B-I-B-L-E” song. She told me it’s all the kids favorite song and they get real loud when they scream ‘Bible’ at the end. So I wanted her to show you as well.

Overall, we're doing great and really enjoying our time here. Please keep us in your prayers as we have had a busy schedule and we don't want to miss what God has for us to learn. Thank you so much!

P.S. If you are reading this from your e-mail, the video may not show up. There is always a link at the very top of the e-mail that will take you directly to our blog page.
